Much of the entertainment and pop culture world, whether it is music, art, or media, is brought to real life from the Dakaverse. Take, for instance, . Fortuna is a game popularly played in pubs, bars, and everywhere else in the Dakaverse. Here are the main bits of media that prominently appear in each story.
PUPPETS & PAWNS
Puppets & Pawns is a highly-anticipated upcoming movie by Paurneaux Brothers filmed on location in Ponderer’s Pointe. It is in the same neighborhood as the home of renowned scientist Doctor Oliver Vlakvanovich, much to his dismay. The movie is about a wealthy divorcing couple who unfortunately has their six-year-old daughter stuck in the middle of their childish nonsense. After finding a mystery marionette in the attic, which she fondly names Jester, she learns that she can use their arrogance to her advantage. She uses their constant fighting to receive all the trinkets and toys her little heart desires. The movie stars the it-couple Kiden Laden and Tony Stellard, as well as extreme rapper Puppet Man as the voice of Jester. However, filming is riddled with disaster as one incident after another slows the shooting schedule.
PUNK POTION DOLLZ
Punk Potion Dollz is the latest comic/cartoon craze, created by rising author and former Pharmacy Tech Zarita Alvarez. The story revolves around six female dolls and their struggle for uniqueness once they discover they are a dime a dozen. They acquire weapons from a kiddie doctor’s kit to fight evil and bigotry in their hilarious and magical toy box land of Cajuguetes. The girls are green Herba, purple Poiso, silver Chemi, pink Seru, blue Tab, and red Elixi. Despite its massive drug overtones, Punk Potion Dollz is adored by many, young and old. Alvarez could retire on the merchandising revenue alone.
PP INSTIGATOR NEWSPAPER
Given the spiritual nature of Ponderer’s Pointe, the PP Instigator Newspaper has always been a great source of entertainment across the country. However, on a more somber note, the PPI currently follows the strange journey of convicted animal abuser/accused serial killer Glenn Grimes.
DREADED INSURANCE ADJUSTING
Dreaded Insurance Adjusting is a side story which follows Pensburg Equanimity Insurance’s Lead Claims Adjuster, the slovenly Salvador Delores, on his daily grind. Unlike other Claims Adjusters, though, he gets to the truth of the tragedy because he can speak with the poor souls who have unfortunately perished during said accidents. Outside of talking to angels all day, Salvador has to deal with his recent horrible divorce, his jerky co-workers, and ugh, Blondie Khan—adopted adult daughter of politician/business Vladimir Khan. Blondie has a superbly-nosy way of catching Salvador in the middle of his angelic conversations. Comically, she always assumes he is speaking to himself, especially considering his chaotic appearance. As if that was not hectic enough, Salvador spends a fair amount of time pursuing runaway minister Agnes Delores, no relation. She allegedly gave him these powers of spiritual communication and left him high and dry. He has to find her and get some answers, but apparently, she does not wish to be found.
LEAVE DEAD ENOUGH ALONE
Leave Dead Enough Alone is the latest horror/romance novel by mediocre Indie author Velma Vlakvanovich. Even she has no idea what the story is about, as it is unfinished. However, due to the popularity of her previous book’s cover art, secretly done by her best friend Amanda Maxwell, she has amassed quite a following. Unlike other times, the buzz for her new book revolves around a flat out lie she told on national television. As abusive Velma struggles to finish her book in time for RVNBKS, Amanda, with demonic pity, has taken it upon herself to rewrite and finish the book as well as the usual extravagant cover art.
THE BADVENTURES OF VIRAL BEAR
The Badventures of Viral Bear is a cartoon by eccentric author Petal Patel in the late 2070’s. Ammi, a hard-working single mother of three, falls in love with four stuffed animals at an estate sale one day. She purchases all four of them, a fox, a pig, a bunny and a bear. She gives her twin daughters, Vasuki and Vashudha, the bunny and fox. Her younger son Qasim gets the bear, and she keeps the pig. The bear, named Viral by Qasim, gets into all sorts of devious mischief as he reveals to the children that he can communicate with them. Particularly, he targets the rivaling twins, conning them out of monetary gifts and trinkets, much to Qasim's chagrin.
COMPY KOI BOI, DOWNED!
Compy Koi Boi, Downed is a popular series in 2101, created by Xin Weapons Corporation heir Hayate Xin. Instead of following in his famous father Hiraku Xin’s footsteps, he chose a gentler path as a writer and musician. Compy Koi Boi, Downed is, however, the real love story of his neurotic father and his late beloved mother. The show, which uses music to communicate instead of words, focused on Koi Boi, who is a reclusive computer programmer. Koi Boi is mildly addicted to an undisclosed prescription drug for depression (which is most likely Dysruptotrol). He eventually meets a lovely young lady online, Koi Grrl, via online dating. They hit it off well, and immediately he marries her because she uniquely has red hair and blue eyes which he takes as a mystical sign of her greatness. With the pending arrival of their new daughter, Koi Boi slips into a psychotic spiral of hallucinations about evil robot babies from another dimension coming to kill him. However, Koi Girl recognizes the dreams as anxiety attacks and loves him, nonetheless. In the series, Koi Boi is represented by a bass, and Koi Girl is a guitar. The Evil Babies are drums, and the other crazy cast members, including in-laws, neighbors, and the like, round out the orchestra.
